How do flowers grow?

During this special Mother's Day week, we talked about how flowers grow.  We discussed what you need to have a flower grow.  We started with some seeds, and dirt. 

The children got to choose a kind of Sunflower seed to plant.  We also discussed that seeds are also different.  We talked about how to plant the seed in the ground and that with water and sunlight, the seed will start to sprout a root.  Then after 7 days it will start to sprout a shoot up. The children really enjoyed being able to plant their own seed.

The children have been working so hard getting everything ready for the tea party this week.  They are so excited and can't wait to have all of you moms come and enjoy the day with them!
