We had another great week of March. We read Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus. I love this book because the children get so into the story, and making sure that the Pigeon doesn't drive that bus! We also learned about many different buses. Our favorite bus, of course, was the SCHOOL BUS!
We also enjoyed making our own version of the book. The children came up with many different ideas of things that the pigeon shouldn't drive. Some of the other books we read were: The Pigeon wants a Puppy and The Pigeon wants a Hot Dog. We also sorted hot dogs into groups. The kids were given corn dogs, pigs in a blanket, hot dog on a bun and hot dog on a bun with mustard to sort into groups. They did AWESOME!

February Fun!
It is so crazy that it is already February! We are just flying through the school year! It has been fun though. We have been focusing on Friends this month. It has been tough for some children to realize that it is ok to have many different friends. We have been reading books and making projects and having activities that focus on Friends and friendship. There are definitely a few favorite activities. . .
At the writing table, the students have the opportunity to write notes in to their friends in the Post Office. At the science table, the students are able to make their fellow friends a friendship bracelet with pipecleaners and beads. (I know that there were a few students who even made these things for their mommies!) We have also enjoyed playing in the Dramatic Play area, it was a Doctor's Office this month. Surprisingly, I did not end up in the Doctor office this year. . . usually the children think it is cool to check Mrs. Libby's ears, eyes and wrap my arm with a bandage. So fun!
