We started off President's week with making some Uncle Sam hats. We also had the chance to watch part of an old musical and see the performance of "You're a Grand Old Flag". The kids really enjoyed the music and were quite suprised to see a black and white movie. They also decided that since they were marching in the movie, we needed to march!
We also made flags. We read a short book about the American Flag and talked about what colors you need to make an American Flag as well as the importance of the stars and stripes. The kids did well with our project. The ripping of the paper for the stripes was difficult and they worked really hard trying to do this difficult skill.
The kids also enjoyed the dramatic play center. We switched it to a Doctor Office. They have been having fun "taking care of their sick friends".
