USA celebration *monday/wednesday/friday

We started our President's week off with a day off of school and came back to school Wednesday.  The first thing that we did was play a little Hi-Ho Cherrio.
Then later we made our Uncle Sam hats.  We talked about how "Sam" used to check the barrels of food for the servicemen and then he would stamp it "U" "S".  When the barrels arrived, the servicemen really didn't know what "U.S." stood for and nicknamed it Uncle Sam.

We also had alot of fun in our new dramatic play center with the Doctor Office.  The "doctors" and "nurses" have been doing very well taking care of their "sick" friends.

The children made some American Flags as well to celebrate USA.  We had them rip red paper for the stripes and use their hand prints for the blue field on the flag.  We talked about how may stars and stripes has and what colors we need for it.
