Happy Groundhog's Day *Tuesday/Thursday

Today is Groundhog's Day.  We talked about "Phil" the Groundhog, and about shadows.  We talked about how when the sun is out, you can see your shadow.  We also found out from Mrs. Jane that "Phil" saw his shadow, meaning, 6 more weeks of winter. (I like the winter so I hope that he was right.  I know I am crazy, but fun in the snow is my favorite.)

We also looked at sand and learned that sand is tiny rocks.  We used magnify glasses to look closer at the sand and shells.
